{this moment}

A Friday ritual. A single photo - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

When bees gather nectar it is mostly water. The bees store it in the combs, and if kept just that way, it would sour. So, the bees drive out all the extra water. They do this during the day, but mainly, at night. They form into two groups, one forcing the air out of the hive and the other pulling the air into the hive, all cooperating with one another creating air circulation to push the moisture out the door.
If you were to light a match, and place it at the entrance of the hive, you would see the current going in one side and out the other. This amazing refinement of honey was my first introduction to bees, so off I went in search of my own hives ... and a match.
